A New Worshipful Master Takes the Chair at Benevolent Lodge.

On the first Thursday of the month, Benevolent Lodge gathered in Wells for an auspicious occasion: the Installation of our Master Elect, Brother Mike Bidwell, into the Chair.

Mike is a much-loved and highly respected member of the Lodge. He has progressed through the offices with skill, genuine passion, and his trademark wit, earning the admiration of all. The signs are excellent for a truly rewarding Masonic year ahead under his leadership.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mike Greedy, DPGM of Somerset, Mike also had the pleasure of presenting Henry West with his coveted Working Tools Badge—a prestigious Gold Adair badge awarded only to those who have expertly demonstrated the Working Tools across all three degrees in open Lodge. Henry’s confident and flawless performances over recent meetings stand as a shining testament to Benevolent Lodge’s commitment to nurturing and involving the newer Brethren.

As always, the Festive Board followed at the historic White Hart Inn, where a lively, joyous, and truly fraternal evening was enjoyed by everyone present.

This marks a strong start for our new Master and promises an outstanding Masonic year—building perfectly on the excellent foundation laid by our Immediate Past Master, Bob Paice.

Visitors are always warmly welcomed at Benevolent Lodge. If you’d like to see W Bro. Mike Bidwell in the Chair (and perhaps enjoy a rendition of the Visitors’ Song by the renowned 446 Choir!), please contact our Secretary—we’d be delighted to help you.
