A night of firsts at King Alfred

Well, here we are again. Another outstanding evening in the bag for the brethren at King
Alfred. Whilst it could have been considered a “normal evening” on Friday 13th March, this night certainly wasn’t.
This isn’t the only time a K.A evening has been held on a Friday 13th.The first thing of worthy note was the questions to the candidate for the passing. These are usually performed by the Worshipful Master however, to keep the more junior brethren engaged, these questions were actually performed by another FC. And both this brother and the candidate both asked and answered the questions with perfect form and order, it really did set the bar for the evening.
The next thing we were all hotly anticipating was the extended 2nd degree tracing board lecture. Even some of our more experienced and learned brethren haven’t yet had the privilege of seeing it. A truly stunning piece performed in the most exquisite of manners, delivered by none other than Russ Woodland APGM.
And then, if it couldn’t get any better, we had the SE Corner delivered by our very own Peter Elmont PAGDC, someone who has been a mason for over 40 years and yet has never done this piece before. Bravo sir.
A cracking evening. And we wish our visitors and very warm welcome back.
