The Hanging Chapel Clocks up Another Superb Installation

On Thursday 12th February Lodge Portcullis who meet in Langport, installed their new Master Andrew Altendorff into the Chair of King Solomon. The outgoing Master installed his successor in a very moving ceremony. The Lodge were delighted to have over twenty visitors to the Lodge, with several Master’s in office attending along with Grand Officers from the Province and from further afield. A delegation of members of Andy’s Mother Lodge St Mary from the Province of Hampshire were in attendance and also brought the Bible from their Temple in order for Andy to take his obligation on. One very eminent and senior Mason said it was the best installation ceremony he had ever seen.

Andy Wade the Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden attended as the Presiding Officer, representing the Provincial Grand Master and he was looked after in expert fashion by Tony Rash the Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies. Andy Wade said “It was a first-class installation ceremony.  He went on to say that the Director of Ceremonies for the Lodge Denis Paull “Kept proceedings moving at a good steady pace and injected so much fun and good humour into the evening”.

The Festive board was the usually superb event with all the members and visitors enjoying the delicious Carvery at the Langport Arms.  The Lodge are looking forward to another tremendous year with plenty of ceremonies lined up.
