King Alfred supporting Weston Hospice

Last week saw the brethren at King Alfred present a cheque to Weston Hospice for a total of
£700.
This money was raised last masonic season where K.A hosted a casino night at the lodge.
This was not the only time a casino night has been held and it certainly won’t be the last,
with fun games and engaging commentary these events create a buzz around the local
masonic community, an impressive amount of money to be raised at one night, just really
goes to show how committed to Charity masons are.
The brethren visited the main site of Weston Hospice situated in the tranquil setting of Uphill,
they have 10 private rooms meaning 10 residents, with a further 2000 people on their books
within the community. This just goes to show how vital the work is they do.
Funding and support is critical to Weston Hospice with 80% of their funding coming through
the community, only 20% is through the Integrated Care Board.
The nurses and volunteers are really special bunch of people so, it was K.A’s honor to
present the cheque to them.
