A Warm Welcome from Gerard Lodge

Gerard Lodge recently held a very successful Open Event, welcoming nearly 50 attendees for an informative and enjoyable evening that showcased Freemasonry at its best.

The afternoon began with a brief meeting for members, including the presentation of a cheque in support of Prostate Cancer Research.

Visitors were then warmly welcomed upstairs to view the Lodge Room and to ask questions in an open and relaxed setting, helping to demystify Freemasonry and encourage open conversation.

A highlight of the evening was a fascinating talk on the origins of Freemasonry, delivered by Past Provincial Grand Master, Stuart Hadler. His speech offered valuable insight into the history and principles of the Craft and was very well received by all in attendance.

This was followed by a short but heartfelt address from Brother Liam Smith, who spoke about why he chose to join Freemasonry and shared his positive experiences so far, providing a personal and relatable perspective for those considering membership.

Following the presentations, attendees enjoyed a three-course meal, which was accompanied by a festive Santa’s Grotto, adding a family-friendly and seasonal touch to the evening. A raffle was also held, raising £235, and the event concluded with a heartfelt speech from Worshipful Master Graham Millard.

Overall, the event was an excellent success, combining education, fellowship, and charity, and provided a wonderful opportunity to engage with the wider community.

Their thanks go to everyone who contributed to making the evening so memorable, and to all who attended and supported the Lodge.
