Taunton Deane Lodge Celebrate Harry’s 60 Years in Freemasonry

At their December meeting, Taunton Deane Lodge (TDL) were very pleased to welcome the Provincial Grand Master for Somerset Ray Guthrie. The evening’s proceedings, being a second degree ceremony was carried out by the Worshipful Master Nick Judd and his team in their usual excellent style. Following the ceremony, the PGM presented Harry Price with his certificate for 60 years in Freemasonry. Harry was initiated on 2 December 1965 into Ivy Lodge no. 1441 becoming Master in 1976; having moved to Somerset in 1984 he became a joining member of Taunton Deane Lodge in 1990.

Breaking with the long-standing tradition of only electing those from the brethren initiated into TDL, in 2022 Harry became the first joining member to attain the Chair of King Solomon. Ray summarised Harry’s impressive Masonic career, noting his membership in various progressive orders and his service in many Offices, including Craft, Royal Arch, Mark, and Rose Croix. A truly magnificent Masonic career….
The evening was concluded with a superb Festive Board enjoyed by all.
