James takes over the Chair at St Kew

The installation of James Joyce into St Kew Lodge was a very enjoyable evening and well attended. R.W.B. Stuart Hadler was present, representing the Provincial Grand Master Ray Guthrie, and great to have Steven Jepps supporting Stuart in his first visit as Assistance Grand director of ceremonies.

James Joyce was installed into the chair by IPM Richard Walter, who carried out the ceremony excellently. Following this, James appointed his officers for the year and achieved a full light blue progression, which reflects the continued strength of the lodge.

Bro’s Luke, Chris and Jay done superbly in presenting James the working tools and a great achievement by Chris and Jay in achieving there Provincial Grand Masters working tools challenge badges which will be presented to them by the current Adair secretary at the next meeting. An amazing achievement for them both in gaining confidence in presenting ritual on the floor of the lodge.

The ceremony itself was conducted smoothly and in good order, making for a thoroughly pleasant occasion.

The evening concluded with a lively and enjoyable festive board, with plenty of good humour and fellowship. One light-hearted moment saw the newly appointed Junior Warden, Paul Ziegler, briefly misplace his gavel during the festive board, which was taken in good spirit by all present, only to be presented back to him by the new worshipful master. Think Paul will be getting a wrist tie for his gavel for future meetings

Overall, it was a successful evening, and all present wished the Worshipful Master and his officers a happy and successful year ahead.
