Get Lectured At Chapter Of St George

For their December Convocation, with a brief lull in Exaltation activity, the Chapter decided to dedicate the time to presenting those Royal Arch lectures which are often deferred due to time constraints in Exaltation ceremonies, apart from the mandated Mystical Lecture Part 1. So, the Companions of St George shared the workload and presented, in turn, the Mystical Lecture Part 2 (given by Ian Barrie), the Historical Lecture (given by Ken Clarke, Rod Green and Vern Whereat) and the Symbolical Lecture (given by Paul Meaden, Matt Crook, Rod Green, Ed Richings and Ian Barrie).
The Historical & Symbolical Lectures were presented in ‘Catechetical Form’, which means teaching in the form of questions and answers. The Companions present valued the opportunity to advance their daily masonic knowledge and to appreciate the deeper meaning of the words and symbols sometimes not fully explained at a usual Convocation Exaltation.
To finish off the December Convocation, Excellent Companion Maldwyn Davies, a Past Officer of The Grand Chapter Of England, presented a Grand Chapter Certificate to Companion Bryan Newton Correa de Faria Raimondi. The Companions retired to a very Festive Festive Board, with a superb traditional Christmas dinner, courtesy of Taunton’s resident 5* caterer Karen Dingle & her team.
The Chapter Of St George will return….with another Exaltation ceremony on the 26th Feb 2026.
