St Dunstan’s Supporting Local Creative Charity
St Dunstan’s Lodge in Glastonbury was approached by their local Yeast Scrapstore as they were in need of some new specialist tables. The Scrapstore is a recipient of excess materials from a whole range of companies, and they in turn open up their space to local craft groups and schools, who purchase these materials for creative and therapy purposes.
It is quite a hub in the local community, and used by many local user groups. Their existing tables were too big and heavy for their users. With a donation of £500 from St Dunstan’s, along with others who have donated, they are now able to purchase robust yet lightweight and foldable tables which will make a huge difference. With recycling being at the heart of what they do, the Scrapstore have arranged for their old tables to be used by a local school.
Three members of the lodge went to meet members of the Scrapstore – where there was a sewing class on and someone had kindly baked a delicious cake to have while we were there, which is always welcome!
