A Jumper Start for Columbanus Bikers

Brethren of Columbanus lodge held their Lodge of Instruction at Devizes Masonic Hall recently to prepare for their Installation meeting in January.

Festive spirits were high and obligatory Christmas jumpers were worn!

Following the meeting, they all adjourned to Bengal Bites Indian Restaurant in Devizes for a delicious meal.

Columbanus are a special Lodge for a number of reasons, they are one of only a few Motorcycle Lodges in the UK, and cover the Provinces of Somerset, Gloucester and Wiltshire.

They mainly meet at Keynsham but also at masonic halls around those Provinces. They have five meetings a year, four of which are in the summer months so they can ride their bikes to the venue.

They differ from the Widows Sons as they do not follow the American style of riding large Cruisers, wear Cut-off jackets or Badges (colours), they simply enjoy riding their motorbikes, holding meetings and taking social rides out together.

The Lodge would welcome existing Masons who enjoy motorbikes as well as new members who would like to become a Mason and share their love of Motorbikes.

If you are interested in joining please contact the Lodge secretary Jeff Penfold at penfold48@live.co.uk

The Master, Wardens and Brethren of Columbanus Lodge wish everyone a very Happy Christmas.
