A Thoughtful Gift From Tynte Lodge Freemasons

When Alan heard that his friend’s 15-year-old daughter had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and would need to spend three weeks isolated in the Royal Marsden Hospital for radiotherapy treatment, he thought she would need something to entertain herself, keep in touch with friends & family and to continue with her studies. An iPad would be the perfect solution, so this prompted a quick request on the Tynte Lodge WhatsApp group which received a positive response and donation of £150 was forthcoming to cover the cost of the iPad.
Alan said “After a recent stay in hospital myself, the biggest thing was conquering boredom! I got an iPad to assist with this. Beatrice lost her Mum to cancer a few years ago and I knew this would be a very difficult time for her – she is not allowed visits from loved ones, and the nurses will only enter her room dressed in a lead apron”. Her dad, Ian Bailey, said “I was very touched by the generosity of the Bridgwater Freemasons, who quickly purchased the iPad for Beatrice so she can get it loaded up before she goes to hospital”. Beatrice plans to write a thankyou letter when she has got the hang of the new device and said “Many thanks to the Tynte Lodge Freemasons for the thoughtful gift”.
