Bridgwater Freemasons Charity Day 2025

The Masonic Lodges that meet at Bridgwater Masonic Hall held a Charity Day on Saturday,
8th November, to celebrate the money raised for local charitable causes over the past year.
Representatives from the supported charities and organisations attended to share insight into
the work they do and how the donations have helped to support that work.

The 27 charities, organisations, and individuals that received donations included Brainwave,
the British Heart Foundation, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, Middlezoy Rovers U13
Football Club, The Royal British Legion, and SWEDA (South West Eating Disorders
Association), as well as the local Sea, Army, and Air Cadet units. A total of £19,600 was
donated to these important causes by the Bridgwater Lodges, with support from other
Masonic Orders that meet at the hall.

Refreshments were served afterwards, and a raffle was held which raised over £120. This was
donated to Middlezoy Rovers U13 Football Club, who attended after their game that morning
and enjoyed a tour of the hall.

The day was a great success and a valuable opportunity to highlight the important fundraising
that Freemasons across Somerset carry out every year. Over the past five years, Masonic
Lodges in Somerset have donated over £500,000 to local charities.
