A 2023 MCF Grant Enables Critical Renovations For A Queen Camel Community Centre.

Following the devastation of flash flooding in May 2023, Queen Camel Community Land Trust has completed its latest redevelopment programme following support from Somerset Freemasons through a Masonic Charitable Foundation (MFC) grant.

Somerset Freemasons were delighted to receive an invitation back to the Old School at Queen Camel to see at first-hand how their donation of £10,000 in 2023 has been put to use.

Steve Millard from Queen Camel Community Land Trust outlined the distress caused by the flooding and how appreciative they were of the donation later that year.

The support of Somerset Freemasons enabled them to get to work on restoring and improving the facilities, making them available for the local community once more.

Following two years of toil, the results are evident with facilities back in use, supporting the local community and surrounding areas.

Steve Millard said, “We are very grateful to the Somerset Freemasons for their generous donation.  It has allowed us to get back on track and develop our facilities to promote the wellbeing of our local community and surrounding areas”.

Somerset’s Provincial Charity Steward, Graham Puddy, said, “We are pleased to have been able to assist in bringing this valuable community hub back to life and experience the vibrancy first hand”.
