Benevolent Lodge Shone with Proud Banner Display at the VE Day Commemoration

A Timless Tribute to the Fallen: As Remembrance Day draws near we reflect upon a poignant moment earlier this year and the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a poignant and special service was held at Exeter Cathedral to honour this historic milestone.

The Benevolent Lodge had the privilege of showcasing its lodge banner during the ceremony, which marked a moment of great pride for the lodge. The lodge was admirably represented by Rod Dean, Sandy Guidi, Joe Guidi, and David Swain, who stood united in their commitment to this meaningful tribute. The display of the banner held particular significance, especially for Rod Dean, who had the honored role of carrying it through the Cathedral during the service.

His pride was especially profound, given his role in helping to design the current banner several years earlier. This act not only commemorated the sacrifices of the past but also highlighted the lodge’s enduring legacy and dedication to preserving its traditions.
