Fantastic “Open Day” at Nailsea!

On Saturday June 28th Nailsea Masonic Hall opened its doors to local organisations for them to showcase what they do in and for the community. It was also an opportunity for Nailsea Masons to promote Freemasonry and what they are doing in the Local Community, they were pleased to be joined by members of The Order of Women’s Freemasonry to help dispel the myth that Freemasonry is just about men.

Those attending got an opportunity to view the recently installed Skeeles Masonic Collection which is displayed upstairs and is usually only accessible to Freemasons, any brethren who visit Nailsea Masonic Hall are encouraged to have a look at this magnificent personal collection which includes Masonic items from the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Masonic Fishing Charity were also in attendance to explain what they are doing to support others both locally and further afield.

The Community were represented by representatives of Nailsea and District Community Transport, Artful Minds, Bees in the Community and The Barn Owls who gave some lovely entertainment in the main hall. The opportunity to introduce themselves to the wider community was very much appreciated by those groups and helped in building bonds between them and the community.

Nailsea Freemasons are grateful to the Masonic Hall Company for allowing this to take place and of course to Eve who opened the bar so everyone could be watered. If any other Masonic Halls in the Province want further details on how it was organised then please contact WBro Andrew Fraley of Estune Lodge.
