A Hot Double for Forest of Mendip Lodge
The Forest of Mendip Lodge held their last meeting of the season in June which was also the last under the leadership of their Worshipful Master, Bubbs Burbage.
The evening was attended by 52 brethren who enjoyed a very hot (due to the weather) double third degree ceremony, with their two candidates Brothers Cardwell and Williams.
Those in attendance included the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Mike Greedy and one of the Assistant Grand Masters, Tony Guthrie, plus a number of Grand officers and Provincial Active officers.
They were joined by a visitation of Brethren from Saltford Lodge, their “Daughter Lodge”.
The enjoyable ceremony was shared between the Master and members; including Brother Robin, their inner guard, who delivered part of the ritual as well as presenting the Working Tools.

The DPGM Kindly presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to Brother Ollie Broad.

During the evening it was proposed that the Lodge made the following donations to five charities:
£100 to the Mens shed
£100 To the British Legion
£100 to Got your Six
£200 towards an F.E.S. Bike for the Childrens hospital
£280 to Bristol After stroke
After that, Saltford Lodge made a generous donation of £500 to bolster the Lodge’s Chairty account.
An excellent festive board followed, which was fit for a hot evening and they look forward to their next meeting when Brother Steve Caswell will be installed as their new Master.
