Tynte Lodge Membership Challenge & Kenya Presentation

Tynte Lodge met in due form on the 15th May 2025 in Bridgwater and had the great pleasure of two highlights that evening. Firstly, the Official Membership Challenge conducted by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Somerset, Russ Woodland. His entrance was received with honour and he was formally welcomed by the Tynte Worshipful Master Peter James. As this was Tynte’s second visit regarding the Membership Challenge, Russ outlined that Tynte Lodge was in a healthy position with its numbers slowly and continually growing and that the brethren should all congratulate themselves for “creating such a friendly and inclusive atmosphere within the lodge”. However, it was emphasised that every member of the lodge should consider themselves part of the ongoing recruitment and retention process.

The second part of the evening was an excellent slide show presentation by Colin Martin, who is the UK Chairman for the Akamba Aid Fund (AAF). Colin visits Kenya quite often and along with his team provide excellent support to villages in need of clean water, education, health & sanitation. The lodge gifted Colin £245.00 from the proceeds of their Festive Board raffle and £100 from Lodge funds.
