An Emergency At Vivary Lodge

The Vivary Lodge who meet in Taunton, recently held an Emergency meeting to raise two of it’s brethren to the sublime 3rd degree of a Master Mason. With no extra business matters permitted, the Worshipful Master Matt Landy and his team got straight into action with a double third degree ceremony: something Vivary Lodge has got quite proficient at recently. Keeping a watchful eye on the ritual and proceedings was Assistant Grand Master David Medlock, on a private visit to surprise Brother Justin Fudge, who work together in the Lord Lieutenant’s Office in Somerset. Brother Paul Clunn made up the double ceremony, which was conducted very efficiently and with deep sincerity; both candidates performed in an exemplary manner.
Worthy of note to readers, is the slightly aged patina of Justin’s Master Mason’s apron (pictured above left): this was the apron Justin’s wife’s dad wore previously, who was a Worshipful Master at Tynte Lodge, Bridgwater. Before that it was worn by his father who was a Liverpool Mason in the 1930’s. So for nearly 100 years old, his apron has seen a fair bit of masonic action!
