King Alfred Chapter Exalt Lee

There was a quiet anticipation in the lead up to the March Convocation of King Alfred
Chapter a straightforward meeting including an exaltation ceremony. But like all best
laid plans, unforeseen circumstances and unavoidable absences come to bear.
Unfortunately three Officers including the Chapter’s 1 st Principal were unable to
attend, so after a quick reshuffle and a couple of phone calls and emails, E. Comp
Simon Sparkes acted as Z, E. Comp Jeremy Thomas performed the administrative
duties of Scribe E and Treasurer, Comp Peter Niccol the Visiting Scribe E of Adair
Chapter assisted in the ceremony as Scribe E, E. Comp Andy Clapp visiting from
Inkerman Chapter acted as Scribe N, Comp James Joyce acted as 1 st Assistant
Sojourner, and E. Comp Malcolm Beard acted as Janitor.

The Chapter welcomed sixteen visitors from across the province, including
Companions from Inkerman, Eldon, Tyntesfield, St Keyna, Connaught, Abbey, Adair,
and St Lukes, but in particular, the Companions of Chapter Marine who
delivered the Somerset Sceptre, for onward transfer to Abbey Chapter in April. The
team then delivered an enjoyable exaltation ceremony for the candidate, after which
they retired to the dining room for much needed refreshment.

The Photograph below shows the three principals of the Chapter with the newly
exalted Companion, Lee Crago.
