Somersetshire Chapter 2925 March meeting
A fun March Convocation for Somersetshire Chapter No 2925
Somersetshire meetings tend to start in the bar at Mark Masons Hall, with companions catching up over food or a drink, followed by a rehearsal in the chapter room and then down to business.
This was the first meeting following installation, with the Robe Addresses to Joshua and MEZ being delivered in fine form, by Ray Conneely and Malcolm Newlands.
The chapter being relatively small in number, there was no exhalation, and instead, a series of snippets were delivered from Solomon by our MEZ, Ray Conneely, Joshua – Scott Gibbons and Principal Sojourner Geoff Lester. This was a first for the chapter and was well received by the companions.
We had a joiner from Somerset, Steven Wilson, who was warmly welcomed to the Chapter, and is now our 1st Assit Sojourner, congratulations Steven!
£150 was donated to the Military Charity “Got Your Six”, based in Wincanton Got Your Six UK | Got Your Six UK, and £150 to Young Somerset – Young Somerset. E Comp Geoff Lester in his capacity as the grand Charity Steward in Somerset, is looking at getting some or all of this match funded by the Province of Somerset. These donations demonstrate and strengthen the Chapters ties with the Province of Somerset.
Following the meeting companions were treated to a fine meal at Mark Masons Hall, accompanied by an excellent selection of wines.
Somersetshire Chapter meets on the 2nd Tuesday in January (installation), 3rd Tuesday in March and 2nd Wednesday in November (Somerset Provincial Chapter visit).
