Gordano Lodge Carols and Christmas Lunch

‘In the deep mid-winter, frosty winds may blow….’

Gordano Lodge held its annual Carols and Christmas Lunch in December, in the midst of the fury of Storm Darragh. Although the storm unfortunately kept several away, the members, wives, families and widows who made it to the Clevedon Temple enjoyed each other’s company in their usual festive manner.

The day started in the bar (always a good way to kick things off), then all went to the lodge room and robustly sang a selection of Christmas Carols, interspersed with seven selected Bible readings telling the Christmas story. The Carols were played in his normal style by W.Bro Matt Westley, whilst the readings were lead by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro David Parslow, with the assistance of those present.

With the vocals chords suitably exercised, everyone repaired to the Dining Room (The Poet’s Suite), where Zena and Neil provided a bounteous Christmas Lunch, with all the trimmings. The Worshipful Master held a raffle at the festive board, the proceeds of which were sent to the Julian Trust.

A wonderful start to the Christmas Season, enjoyed by all, and a fine way to finish of another busy year for the lodge.
