St Alphege Lodge Support Dorothy House
Local floods delayed their visit to Dorothy House in Winsley but Peter, the Worshipful Master of St Alphege Lodge, accompanied by their Treasurer David, finally managed to handover a cheque for £500.
Dorothy House provide exceptional personalised care to people in our community who are approaching death. They are here for our loved ones, providing as much or as little as needed.
This can include a range of services, from their specialist medical support, to complementary therapies, helping patients live their final days at home and arranging experiences that create precious memories for families and friends.
They provide palliative and end of life care to adults (18+) with a progressive, treatable but not curable life-limiting illness or with severe frailty, and also their family (including children) and carers.
They care for people across a 800sq mile catchment area which covers Bath & North East Somerset (BaNES), and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset. Their services provide physical, psychological and/or spiritual support, and are free of charge. They are available day and night to ensure that patients have the right care, at the right time.
Chelsea Young, a member of the Dorothy House Fundraising Team, reiterated their sentiments, “through your kindness and generosity, we can provide dignity in death, pain relief for those suffering, and carers to comfort and support people in your community with limited time left”.
