North Somerset Masonic Widows Association 30th Anniversary Celebration Lunch

Members of the Association were joined by Provincial Officers and Lodge Almoners to celebrate
the 30 th Anniversary of the formation of our Association, at the Masonic Hall in Nailsea.

It was a unique achievement to have two nonagenarians present, Eileen Jackson (Chairlady) and
Arlene Crawshaw (Treasurer) who were founder members. They enjoyed a delicious lunch, followed by a birthday cake made and decorated by Eileen.

Throughout the years, we have opted to remain independent, but several Lodges do support us.
We aim to offer friendship to Masonic widows and compassion to members in distress,
sick, needy or disabled. We find ways and ideas to help widows over the isolation of
widowhood and we enjoy a varied programme of speakers at our monthly meetings.

The Right Worshipful Bro.Ray Guthrie presented Eileen with the Provincial Grand Master’s
Certificate of Commendation for her commitment and dedication to the North Somerset Masonic
Widows Association since its foundation in 1996.

On behalf of the Province, Worshipful Bro.Adrian Robson presented Eileen with a beautiful
bouquet.

On behalf of the members of the Association, Eileen and Arlene were each presented with a gift of
an orchid. John Winston, on behalf of the SMFA, congratulated the Association on reaching its 30
year Anniversary and thanked Eileen for her support for the SMFA.

If you know a Widow who would like to join us, please contact our Secretary at nsmwidows@gmail.com
