Chris Cooke visits Canada
In October 2024 Bro Chris Cooke from St Kew lodge left Weston S Mare to visit Vancouver, Canada with his partner to visit family.
He couldn’t travel that far without trying to get a lodge visit in place and lucky for him his partners grandfathers friend, is a freemason on Vancouver island, so therefore he started looking at visits which would be achievable.
On the 12th October a visit was planned to visit Mount Garibaldi lodge No.127 meeting in Squamish, British Columbia which coincided with the Grand Master of British Columbia and Yukon MW Bro. Mark Forster’s official visit to that district.
It was a very interesting meeting with talks on the district and the history of the lodge, afterwards they all moved to a local venue for a festive board with a great view of the mountain range which surrounds Squamish.
Then on Wednesday 16th, Chris was invited to Prince Of Wales lodge No.100 for a triple initiation using emulation workings in Vancouver, it was a fantastic evening with fellow brothers.
The next day he visited the grand lodge of British Columbia and Yukon for a private tour of the building and history, an amazing modern building in which the architecture has really been thought out.
Chris would like to thank VW Bro. Terry Van Seters from Chemainus Lodge No.114 for helping him organize the visits and accompanying him on the visit to Squamish.
