A Special Meeting for Gordano Lodge at the end of a Busy Year
Gordano Lodge finished the Masonic year as it had started – on a high with an extra (emergency) meeting. One of the purposes of the meeting was to reduce the back log of ceremonies which already stretch into 2027. During the previous twelve months, Gordano Lodge has had 5 Initiations, 4 Passing’s and 3 Raisings, as well as a shoal of Charity and Social Events. A very full year!
At this extra meeting, Bro Bobby Corney was Passed to the Second Degree by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro Paul Hinkley, and his now well rehearsed and practiced team.
W.Bro Paul has only one more ceremony before his term in the chair comes to an end – a double Passing at another extra (emergency) meeting in September.
At the very full Festive Board, wives, partners, friends and
the odd babe in arms were invited. It is a very rare occurrence for Gordano Lodge to invite non masons, and this lead to a
particularly happy evening.
Also at the Festive Board, representatives from two of the charities supported by the lodge during the year were welcomed and fêted. Both Louis Gallard (British Heart Foundation) and Carole Callaghan (Brandon Trust).
spoke of the work of their charities, and of how the money that Gordano Lodge had given was being used to benefit their work. The lodge finished the busy year in good spirits with a fine send off for the
summer break.
