MCF Ball – Ashton Gate 17 June 2023
On Saturday 17th June, the Provinces of Bristol & Somerset co-hosted the MCF Ball at the Ashton Gate Stadium Bristol. With over 500 guests from Somerset, Bristol and the neighbouring Provinces, the evening was a great success.
This was the first time the event was held outside London and the first time it was co-hosted by two Provinces. The success of the evening further enforced the unique and strong bond between the Provinces of Bristol, Somerset, and the Masonic Charitable Foundation, with everyone working in harmony.
The toast to the MCF was given by Ray Guthrie, the PGM of Somerset, with Les Hutchinson the Chief Executive of the MCF responding. Sir Paul Williams the Deputy President and Chairman of the MCF, gave a toast to the Provincial Grand Masters, to which Joe Davis the PGM of Bristol responded.
Entertainment was provided from the Crazy World of Ben Langey, the unique style of Adger Brown, Somersets very own Daniel Dean (from Tyntesfield Lodge) with ABBA Re-Bjorn, finishing off the evening with everyone dancing and enjoying themselves.
The evening raised many thousands of pounds to help the MCF continue its hard work in supporting members and their families in Somerset and Bristol, the exact amount is still be calculated and will be released in the next few days. Which will of course be updated here.
Update 4th July 2023 – The event raised a magnificent sum of £26,726.75 pence – fantastic!
This was a truly memorable occasion, which will last long in everyones memories, thank you to all those that attended and all of those that helped to make it the success it truly was. The Ball next year will be held in Lincoln, and we wish them every success.
