Winscombe Freemasons Lodge was founded in 1947 and meets on the second Wednesday at 18:30 except October Months – Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Oct (Installation 17:30), Nov and Dec
The Lodge currently has 26 subscribing members and 4 honorary members. Our membership covers the age range from 36 upwards, and have a wide variety of occupations and professions including Electrician, Gunsmith, Glazier, Police Officer, Bank Manager & Transport Manager. We enjoy diverse hobbies including Golf, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Classic Vehicles, Probus and Motor Cycling.
We pride ourselves on being a very friendly Lodge, enjoying the company of guests and new members alike. Our Festive Board is renowned for its excellent quality and convivial atmosphere. We enjoy working together to deliver ritual and ceremonial to the best of our abilities, which makes for very special evenings for our candidates. We acknowledge that each member has different amounts of time that they can make available to Freemasonry. The Lodge values each members support at any level. This can take the form of being very involved in the ceremonies and rituals, being more administratively orientated or simply suggesting and helping to arrange social events – to which family and friends are welcomed.
Throughout the year we collect and donate significant sums to local Charities chosen by our members, as well as supporting the Central Masonic Charitable foundation and the Province of Somerset charitable projects. We are striving to build our membership numbers and are keen to welcome candidates and joining members of all ages who want to participate in and contribute to the life and work of the Lodge.
2022 will take us into our 75th Anniversary on June 4th This will be a milestone in our History and an event we are looking forward to celebrating through the year along with other social events, Sunday Lunches, Cream Teas etc.
We wish to build our membership numbers and are keen to welcome candidates and joining members of all ages who want to participate in and contribute to the life and work of the Lodge.
