Chris Waterhouse

Chris was born in Hastings, New Zealand and spent his formative years there before moving to Hamilton. He joined the New Zealand Army as a Vehicle Mechanic in 1976 and served for 26 years. 20 years in the ranks saw him rise to the rank of WO1 and then afterwards 6 years as an Officer, with postings to Angola and Cambodia before leaving the Army and moving to the UK in 2002. Chris began a new career in the UK as an Automotive Technician working for Mercedes-Benz in Dorchester before being promoted to Service Advisor and then Service Manager for Mercedes Benz of Taunton. He eventually left Mercedes and has been employed at Haynes Motor Museum in the Haynes Heritage Engineering Workshop for the last 6 years and is currently the Service Manager.

Chris was a late bloomer in the Masonic world and joined The Lodge of Fidelity and Sincerity, No 1966 in Wellington in 2008. He is a Past Master of 1966 and is currently Chaplain, LCO and Membership Officer. He is also a founder member of Somerset Military Lodge No 10021 and a member of New Zealand Lodge No 5175 which meets in London. He was Master of New Zealand Lodge in 2022. Chris is an active member of the Chapter of Fidelity and Sincerity where he is currently the MEZ until September. Chris has recently joined the Mark degree in Yeovil.

Chris is married to Karen, and they have a 19 year old son Harrison. They enjoy dog walks and travelling. He is currently Secretary and Standard Bearer for the Martock Branch of the Royal British Legion. Chris is an avid armchair supporter of the Mighty All Blacks Rugby Team.
