North Somerset Masonic Widows Association

On the 27th October 2026, the North Somerset Masonic Widows Association hosted the South West Area Group Meeting at Nailsea Masonic Hall.

Our Chairlady, Eileen Jackson, welcomed Adrian Robson (Provincial Grand Almoner), Julie and Fred Day (Almoner, Southey Lodge) and our Liaison Officer, Peter Harris.   We hosted visitors from Widows Associations in Bath, Bristol, Salisbury, Torbay,  Wiltshire and Yeovil.

Our speaker, Lottie Dale, gave us a talk entitled “Treading the Wards”.   She treated us to a very interesting and amusing look at the life of a trainee nurse at St.Bartholomew’s Hospital (Barts) in London in the late 1960’s/early 1970’s.

This was followed by a two-course meal and our raffle, the proceeds of which will be split between St.Peter’s Hospice, Great Western Air Ambulance and the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Wiltshire Masonic Widows Association have agreed to hold the next meeting on the 26th October 2027.
