Greetings from King Alfred Chapter

Monday 26 th October saw the companions of King Alfred Chapter install Tony Wilsher-Day to the chair of Z as 1st Principle, along with most of his officers for the year, one very promising companion to keep an eye on is James Joyce who is now 2nd Principle, whilst being relatively young, he is a fine ritualist who is almost pitch perfect with everything he says.
The installation ceremony itself was run in a tight manor, all knew what they needed to do and what to say, just goes to show how important practice and rehearsal is. The closing was followed up with Greetings from the visitors, a lovely touch with one very interesting greeting from a companion who’s mother lodge was in Berlin, there’s an a story for another time.
On the night we also saw a vast array of stewards being invested with their collars, a rather intimidating sight looking more like a rugby team line up that serving masons but that’s what makes us different. We also had several new members receive their Grand Chapter Certificates which was presented by David Madden. With lots of new fresh faces, the progressive roles will soon start to fill with companions who recently joined the order, keep an eye on future meetings, all are welcome.
