The Somerset Masonic Shooting Club’s Monthly Breakfast Shoot

Now a regular fixture, the first Sunday of each month is the famous breakfast clay (clay-pigeon) target shoot at The Mendip Shooting Ground Somerset.

With many Somerset brethren, their families and friends as well as brethren from other provinces joining in, the sun shone bright with a very light breeze, making the perfect day for clay target shooting.

They split into two groups, with vice chairman Josh Fiddler taking the experienced shots down to the woodland shoot for the more difficult targets. The entire group had a wonderful time with Norman Player coming out as the top gun.

Under the expert guidance of chairman Rob Collins, all the novice shooters, ladies and young shots were taken to the sporting arena where some very entertaining targets awaited them.

Every shooter received a personal lesson from Rob, who coached them all throughout the day, and very soon they were breaking clays to rapturous cheers and laughter.

Top shots were Gosta and Peter for the men, Jennifer and Jo for the Ladies. Top young shots were Lizzie and Bella for the girls and Arthur and William for the boys.

Afterwards they convened at the shooting lodge cafe for coffee and cakes and their usual social.

A fantastic day of shooting was had by all, with a sea of smiles and laughter filling the air.
