Jeremy takes the Chair at Athelstan

“He’s not coming out, he’s been a very naughty boy” was definitely not said last evening as Jeremy Thomas took the Chair in fine style. With several stand ins for some absent Officers, the team did very well!

Keith Baker was there representing Ray Guthrie PGM, ably accompanied by Steve Jepps his ADC for the evening .

Some wise words were then offered to Jeremy after taking the Chair “Cheer up, You know what they say. Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad. Other things just make you swear and curse…”

With there being 5 stewards Installed it was definitely a case of “Line on the left one collar each”

Keith was made to work for his supper, as well as delivering the address to the new Master he also presented the LCO and Asst Lodge Mentors, with their badges.

The meal that followed was not Halibut but a lovely Pork chop in a cream and mushroom sauce followed by a rather large portion of Sticky Toffee pudding and Custard.

Jeremy said he was really going to enjoy his year and on leading his team he said “Look, you’ve got it all wrong! You don’t need to follow me, you don’t need to follow anybody! You’ve got to think for yourselves! You’re all individuals!”
