Admiral Blake Lodge Initiation

The Admiral Blake Lodge, Bridgwater, initiated Mr Robert Clegg into Freemasonry at their March 2026 meeting. The occasion was both joyful and sad as the Lodge mourned the death of Roy Bedford who passed away in February, just short of being able to celebrate being a Freemason for 70 years. The Provincial Grand Master attended for the occasion and was going to present the 70-year certificate to Roy. This was presented to the Lodge to celebrate this rare achievement in Masonic service.

The evening felt like the perfect example of the Masonic chain with the passing of a Brother to the Grand Lodge above and the inclusion of a new initiate to the order. The officers of the lodge put on an excellent ceremony for Robert, and they all look forward to seeing him progress as a member of the Lodge. The Brethren also enjoyed hearing from the Adair Club, who attended to present awards to Mark Champion & Richard White for completing the Working Tools challenge. The Provincial Grand Master formally presented these. The Adair Club also gave a brief talk about the club later in the evening. This made for an informative and celebratory end to a poignant meeting.
