The Great North Run 2026

Mass participation events, such as the Great North Run, can provide us with an ideal opportunity
to raise funds and offer many rewards.

The benefits include inspiring members to take part in a challenge, promoting our Province, the
MCF and Freemasonry in general, enabling many members to rally together to support a member in
their Province and of course raise funds.

The 2026 Great North Run will take place on Sunday 13 September in Newcastle

The MCF have secured 10 places for this event and these will be made available to any member who
wishes to take part, on the acceptance of terms and conditions that will be provided, including that
all funds raised go to the MCF, either directly or through a Festival Appeal.

The MCF will provide running shirts, water bottles etc and full support on social media, and will assist
in setting up a fundraising page on our Freemasonry Gives fundraising platform.

To ensure fairness, the MCF will hold a ballot for these places on Friday 30 January 2026. If you have
any members in your Province who wish to take part in the Great North Run and wish their names to
be entered into the draw, then please ask them to advise the Fundraising Team by close of business
on Thursday 29 January 2026.
