Spreading Festive Cheer: Benevolent Lodge Supports East Court Care Home

When Benevolent Lodge in Wells received a request for assistance with Christmas projects at East Court care home in Wookey; a residential facility for adults with learning disabilities—the members responded with enthusiasm.

Led by Charity Steward Mick Wright and supported by the entire Lodge, they generously donated £200. This funding enabled the residents to create a variety of handmade craft items, including Christmas cards, decorations, pottery snowmen, and more, helping to brighten the home and spread joy throughout the festive season.

Mick Wright, accompanied by his wife Tracey and Lodge Secretary Richard Hibberd, visited East Court to see the wonderful results firsthand. They were warmly welcomed and shown around by CEO Liz Page, Trust Fundraiser Sarah Cummins, and Home Manager Hazel Mills.

The group was deeply impressed by the residents’ creativity, the dedicated work of the staff, and the warm, joyful Christmas atmosphere that filled the home.

This heartfelt initiative highlights the Lodge’s commitment to community support and the true spirit of the season.
