St Cecilia Install new Master
On Monday 27th October, Wedmore’s Cecilia Lodge 9341 installed. Rev Jeremy Hellier as Master of the Lodge in spectacular fashion with Grand Officer Chris Marchmont doing the honours as the installing Master, and the Lodge choir providing a captivating musical backdrop to the proceedings. All was conducted under the watchful eye of Matt Williams who was representing the Provincial Grand Master.

Following the formal proceedings, the newly install Master led the lodge and a multitude of visitors in a Festive Board of considerable musical splendour. The usual toasts were honoured, with the Graces, Absent Brethren, Return Thanks, Visitor’s Toast, Master’s Song and Tyler’s Toast all being sung in perfect harmony by the assembled company and the occasional soloist!
Jeremy was initiated into Freemasonary in the year 2000 following various curacies in the army and elsewhere including Pendine in Wales, Dartmoor, and twenty-one years as Chaplain and Head of Religious Studies at Wellington School. In the Province, Jeremy has occupied the positions of Provincial Grand Chaplain and Provincial Grand Orator and now is continuing with his work of over 50 years as a volunteer with the Mission of Seafarers. In recognition of his outstanding service to the mission, he has been awarded the “Chris Burley Volunteer Award 2025” which he will receive at All Hallows Church followed by a reception at Trinity House London.
