History made and discussed at Chard

Our member Jeff Farley had been  in discussion with a member of Chard History Group who was curious about Freemasonry in Chard. The upshot of the discussion was that the group was invited to come to the Lodge and hear explanations of our history and work we do with charity in the community.

Jeff Farley gave an introduction. Alan Gitsham gave a brief history of Freemasonry in general, routes of progression for members and some details of famous masons. Adrian Auton gave a rundown of our charitable giving in 2024, both for our lodge and Grand Lodge as well. We answered what we were able to and there was much interest. The audience from the history group were obviously surprised and seemed impressed by what they saw and heard.

Master Mark directed proceedings from the Chair with everyone saying what an enjoyable couple of hours in the lodge.
