Be Prepared ….

The Scouts’ timeless motto, “Be Prepared,” proved its worth when the Wells 5/7th Division Scouts visited Benevolent Lodge. Despite a last-minute cancellation by a candidate, the evening’s proceedings were seamlessly adapted, thanks to the preparedness of all involved. The result was a successful and memorable meeting executed with poise and professionalism.

A highlight of the evening was welcoming the Scouts to receive a £2,000 cheque, raised by the lodge and Provence to support the renovation of their Scout hut.

Scout Leader Heather Anderson, accompanied by Trustee Richard Cronin and fellow Scouts, was warmly received by the Worshipful Master Bob Paice and Charity Steward John Law.

The shared values of Freemasonry and Scouting made this collaboration a natural fit, reflecting our commitment to supporting our community.

Heather’s engaging and humorous speech brought clarity and enthusiasm, shedding light on how the donation will directly benefit the Scouts’ facilities. Her light-hearted explanation of the “missing” 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th divisions added a delightful touch to the evening. Her words underscored the tangible impact of our charitable giving, resonating deeply with everyone at Benevolent Lodge.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Scouts for joining us and look forward to continued support for their thriving community in Wells. As always, we remain committed to living up to the motto: Be Prepared.
