50 Years in Masonry
Several Brethren from Severn Lodge 4399 visited W Bro John Pimm at his home on the 6th of October to present him with a Certificate on achieving 50 years in Masonry as well as greetings and good wishes from The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Ray Guthrie.
John is no longer able to attend Lodge due to his health and was presented his Certificate by the Master of Serven Lodge, W Bro James Purnell. He was accompanied by John’s son W Bro Neil Pimm, W Bro Steve Wilson, and W Bro Geoff Lester.
John was in good spirits as we discussed his Initiation and his Journy through Masonry. He pointed out that it took longer to progress in those days due to the number of Brethren Lodges had. John was initiated into Severn Lodge 4399, then meeting at Portbury on the 29th of September 1975. John progressed as normal and took the Chair of the Lodge in March 1993 and was subsequently promoted to ProvGStdB in 1999, Then in 2006 was promoted to PPrGSwdB, and PPrJGW in 2014.
John was clearly very proud to receive his Certificate, his achievements in Freemasonry and his commitment to Severn Lodge in particular. He was also very keen to point out that he never missed a single meeting until his recent health issues prevented him from attending Lodge. John was given Honorary membership of Severn Lodge in 2025 in recognition of his dedication and contributions to the Lodge over years.
