Quantock Lodge 4446 – Installation Report
Quantock Lodge held its installation meeting on 1st October in Watchet. Alan Sandwell installed John Sully into the Chair of King Solomon in a ceremony marked by tradition and fraternal warmth. The meeting was honoured by the presence of Steve Defries, representing Ray Guthrie – Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Somerset.

The brethren stood in departed merit for Christopher Anthony Cluff, who passed to the Grand Lodge above on 3rd July 2025. Chris will be greatly missed by all at the Lodge.
During the festive board, John Sully took wine with his proposer Dougie Towells and his seconder Roger Biss, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their support. Eric Murrell delivered a memorable toast to the visitors, with Peter Russell offering a gracious and humorous reply.

John Sully was initiated into Quantock Lodge on 1st May 2019. His chosen charity for the year is the Williton Hospital League of Friends. The evening was a fitting blend of ceremony, remembrance, and celebration; an affirmation of the enduring bonds of Freemasonry. Quantock Lodge now looks forward to a busy year ahead – preparing to conduct at least four initiations during the Master’s term of office.
