Sylvanus Lodge at Mendip Shooting Ground

Sylvanus Lodge No 9741 held its regular meeting on Saturday 12th July 2025 at Mendip Shooting Ground.

Alan Coleman won, and Wayne Brooks took 2nd place, in the individual English Sporting shooting competition, which took place in the morning. The team Flush prize was won by Richard Coombs, James Jefferies and Wayne Brooks.

That afternoon, the Master, Craig Harding, opened the lodge and with the assistance of his team and initiated Gary Porter into Freemasonry. Thereafter followed the festive board, which was a feast of steak and chips with all the usual trimmings and a homemade cheesecake.

When the master spoke at the festive board he thanked everyone for the support over the year. He commented how the lodge, sponsoring the point to point in May, and now holding a meeting at the shooting ground, has made huge progress in getting out into its community.
