Carl runs the London Marathon then the Jurassic Coast Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Brother Carl Porter recently ran the London Marathon, raising over £3600 in sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Support. He went on to take part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge, raising a further £1600 for Bowel Cancer UK.

Carl said…
Running the London Marathon is a deeply personal goal for me, but it carries an even greater significance this year. I’m not just doing it for the challenge, but to raise money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support, an organization that has been a tremendous source of help for my wife, Emma, during her battle with cancer.
Emma’s strength and courage through this journey have been nothing short of inspiring, and Macmillan has been there every step of the way, providing both practical and emotional support when we needed it most. Their work goes beyond just medical care – they help families navigate the hardest of times with dignity and compassion.
By running this marathon, I hope to honor Emma’s fight, while giving back to the organization that has done so much for us. Every mile I run is a step toward making sure that others facing cancer can access the same life-changing support we’ve experienced. This race is about more than crossing the finish line; it’s about making a difference for families like ours.
Carl is also fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK on behalf of my wife Emma, who has been deeply affected by this disease.
Bowel cancer touches so many lives, and for us, it’s personal. Emma has shown incredible strength throughout her journey, and supporting this cause is a way for us to not only raise awareness but also contribute to vital research that can help others facing the same battle.
Bowel Cancer UK is dedicated to improving early diagnosis, advancing treatment options, and ultimately saving lives. Your support will make a real difference in the fight against bowel cancer and help ensure that others can have a fighting chance, just like Emma.
