King Alfred – The Spirit of Giving

The brethren at King Alfred has once again made a difference to the community in
Somerset, this time with a local young boy called Ollie.

Ollie has a very rare neurological condition, he was not expected to survive more than 12
months, he is now 8 years old and only 3 kids in the UK have it so is very rare and his family
need help from the community. We set out to raise £750.00 for a specific food blender as
conventional ones don’t blend the food small enough and can block his feeding tubes, jointly,
King Alfred together with another organisation raised a staggering £2300.00 in 3 consecutive
evenings! Meaning extra specialist equipment can now be purchased for Ollie.

Some of the brethren took their Friday morning out to visit Ollie and his family and to them
with the cheque which was of course gratefully received. Ollie is a beautiful boy and this help
will be sure to provide him with a better quality of life going forward.

To the brethren of King Alfred, you should be proud.
