Eldon Lodge – Installation Report

The first meeting of the new season for Eldon Lodge, Clevedon means an Installation of a new Master and on Saturday 10th October, that is precisely what happened. James Stacey as the incumbent Master then became the Installing Master and placed Mike Norton (the Provincial Grand Pursuivant) into the Chair of King Solomon in time-honoured Masonic fashion. Richard Winter, a Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, kept a close watch on proceedings as the Presiding Officer, ably supported by Jonathan Reach as his Director of Ceremonies.

Following his Installation Mike invested his officers for the coming season and there also was a special moment as Eldon welcomed back Brother John Appleton, who was attending his first Eldon lodge meeting after a 37 year gap! Congratulations were also due for Brother Harvey Edgar, who was presented with the PGM’s Working Tools Challenge badge by Richard.

An excellent Eldon Lodge Festive Board was enjoyed by all present and the occasion was completed with wonderful toasts and entertaining responses. Eldon’s next meeting on Saturday 12th December will also be extra special, as the new Worshipful Master is scheduled to initiate his son James into Freemasonry and Eldon Lodge.
