Somersetshire Lodge Initiate their first new member for years!

At their recent meeting the Brethren of Somersetshire Lodge, led by their WM Ian ‘Bubs” Burbage Initiated their newest member RJ, sadly due to work security reasons RJ cannot be named our have his picture displayed.

In a demonstration level ceremony (as would be expected from many past Somerset active provincial officers) RJ was an excellent candidate! The stand out piece was the Charge delivered by our very own APGM Russ Woodland, one of the best they had ever witnessed. With a couple of high profile members (Garry Sharp ProvGDC and Tony Guthrie PPrAPGM, Mark PGM) missing the day was still a success.

The lodge also ballotted for 5 new joining members and two more were proposed on the day – which will make the numbers up to over 40 – a fantastic achievement in a few years!

The Lodge was also honoured to receive the Met Grand Visitor Tim Spriggs accompanied by his DC Stephen Moore, as well as their new visiting officer Des Griffin – all of whom were suitably impressed with the meeting.

The festive board was the carvery served by Mark Masons Hall, which is something to behold! That together with the famous “Cross Toasting” the day was a great success.
