IMEx 2026—A Gazebo, Open Lodge and Two New Members

This year’s annual Ilminster Experience (IMEx) proved to be one of our most successful events yet, particularly when it comes to public interest and potential new members.

With our brand-new gazebo proudly positioned in the main street and the Lodge building open to visitors, Nyanza was certainly making its presence felt!!  The gazebo attracted plenty of attention and the brethren who manned it did a fantastic job of chatting to passers-by, answering questions and, where appropriate, gently encouraging the curious to venture up to the Lodge for a look around. Those who accepted the invitation were given a warm welcome by the brethren in the Lodge, who did an excellent job of showing visitors around, answering any queries and completing membership contact forms for subsequent follow-up.
It was a great example of what can be achieved when the brethren work together as a team and with everyone playing their part.
The results speak for themselves. Following the subsequent follow-ups two new members are now in the process of beginning their journey into Freemasonry. More importantly, Nyanza Lodge continues to grow its membership and raise its profile
within the local community.
