1st Bronze Visiting Challenge Certificate Presented
Congratulations to David Gardner, who was presented with his Bronze Visiting Challenge certificate at the Adair AGM held at Grand Lodge in London. The certificate was presented by R W Bro Ray Gurthrie. David is the first ever person to receive this.
The Adair Visiting Challenge was created to encourage Somerset Freemasons to experience the wider Province by visiting lodges beyond their own. The challenge is split into Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, with the Bronze Award requiring members to visit every lodge within their local area before progressing further afield across Somerset.
Visiting is one of the great traditions of Freemasonry. It provides an opportunity to meet new Brethren, experience different styles of ritual and learn from other lodges. Just as importantly, it helps support lodges across the Province by increasing attendance, strengthening friendships and encouraging greater engagement between members.
The challenge has already introduced many newer Freemasons to lodges they may otherwise never have visited and continues to play an important role in promoting the principles of visiting and supporting Somerset Freemasonry.
All Freemasons (Light and Dark Blue) are welcome to take part.
