Three New Honorary Members and a 50-Year Certificate at Gordano Lodge
Gordano Lodge concluded its year under the leadership of W.Bro Rob Collins in splendid fashion. The meeting was well attended and full of activity, with R.W.Bro Ray Guthrie leading a Provincial Fraternal Visit team, making for a truly memorable evening.
The Provincial Grand Master opened proceedings by presenting the Somerset Travelling Trowel, which will be taken to Sylvanus Lodge during the summer months. The principal business of the evening was the Raising of Bro Jon Card, carried out to an excellent manner by W.Bro James Purnell.
The Lodge was also pleased to elect three Honorary Members: W.Bro Peter Harris MBE, W.Bro Mike Wilson, and W.Bro Philip du Kamp. Each now have a framed certificate thanking them for all they have done for Gordano Lodge for many years. In a surprise presentation, the Provincial Grand Master awarded W.Bro Peter Harris MBE with his 50-year certificate and spoke about his interesting introduction to Freemasonry.
In addition, the Lodge welcomed a new joining member and elected its officers for the coming year, including W.Bro Steve Wilson as Worshipful Master and W.Bro Steve Blewitt as Treasurer.
With such a full agenda, the Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro Andy Wade, ensured the smooth and efficient running of the meeting throughout.
At the Festive Board, continuing the tradition of themed meetings throughout the year, the evening celebrated St George’s Day, with the dining room decorated with flags and patriotic adornments.
A great deal was accomplished in one evening, all conducted with enthusiasm and good spirit—truly a memorable occasion.
