Provincial Team Delivers Double Third Degree at Wraxall Lodge

Wraxall Lodge welcomed the Provincial Team to Nailsea on Friday 1 May 2026 for a memorable and well-attended meeting, featuring a double Third-Degree ceremony.

The Lodge was opened by the Worshipful Master, Mark Knight, before receiving the Provincial Team. In the absence of the Provincial Grand Master, Ray Guthrie, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Russ Woodland, led the visit and subsequently presented the gavel to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Barrie Palmer, who conducted the ceremony.

Shaun Johnson and Lee Johnson were raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason in a ceremony delivered with precision, dignity, and strong teamwork. The ritual was shared across a wide range of Provincial Officers, demonstrating both the strength and depth of the team and providing an engaging experience for all present.

The meeting saw an excellent turnout, with 64 Brethren present in the Lodge and 62 dining afterwards. A number of visitors were also in attendance, including guests from Bristol and further afield, adding to the sense of occasion and shared enjoyment.

The Festive Board that followed provided a relaxed and convivial setting, with a menu of fish cake, chicken and ham pie, and lemon sponge with custard enjoyed by all.

Why this matters:
Evenings like this reinforce what makes Freemasonry strong – shared effort, high standards, and memorable experiences for candidates. Bringing together the Lodge and Provincial Team helps build confidence, strengthen delivery, and create a real sense of occasion that stays with those involved long after the meeting has closed.
