Shedding The Cash In Bridgwater

The Bridgwater Masonic Centre has generously donated £850 to the Bridgwater Man Shed, offering vital support to the volunteer run community organisation that promotes creativity, wellbeing and social connection to everyone in the local area. The Shed forms part of SLaMS, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered charity 1182815; affiliated with the UK Men’s Shed Association, SLaMS operates entirely without paid staff. All day to day activities are managed by volunteers, while the charity’s trustees guide its direction, raise essential funds and ensure the Shed remains inclusive, friendly, safe and sustainable.

Founded in 2015 in Burrowbridge, in the heart of the Somerset Levels and Moors, the Shed has since relocated to a very pleasant canal side site in Bridgwater. The Shed provides a warm, welcoming environment for anyone interested in hands-on projects, learning new skills, or simply spending time with likeminded people. Whether someone is a long time “shedder”, a casual handyman or a newcomer curious to learn more, they will always find a friendly atmosphere and a space to work on personal or community projects and most importantly, a hot mug of tea waiting on their first visit.

Representatives of the Bridgwater Masonic Centre said they were pleased to support a charity that plays such an important role in improving wellbeing and community connections. Their generous £850 donation will help the Bridgwater Man Shed continue delivering its volunteer led space for learning, creativity and social interaction. With strong community backing and a thriving new location, the Bridgwater Man Shed is well placed to continue serving the people of Bridgwater for many years to come.
